ABOUT US

Think Global Act Local

LittleApple is a registered small business.  Based just outside of the BIG apple, LittleApple was established in 2016.  Its founder noticed the image of a little apple worldwide, carried by school children to their teachers. From the early days of US History with Horace Mann in Massachusetts to images of little apples as far as Luang Prabang, Laos.

Once she started to look, she could not stop finding the connection between the "apple a day" analogy and the power of education worldwide wherever she went. The luxury of even being able to eat an apple proved not so different from the luxury of an education for so many children, youth and their caregivers worldwide.

So she committed to thinking global and acting local and founded LittleApple.

“An apple a day keeps the doctor away.“

Traditionally, caregivers play a huge role in the education of the younger generation, in the home, in the classroom, and even in the schoolyard. Around the world, the involvement of not only the parents, but also the grandparents, aunts, and every other part the community which cares for the student, determine their educational success. Even in less direct ways, as this piece describes, the caregiver supports the child through her contributions to the local economy.

The influence of these individuals is why LittleApple evolved in 2019 to focus primarily on caregiver involvement. The founder believes that as a small business, you must practice what you preach, and as a caregiver herself she believes that the people she works with are entitled to fair and equal working conditions. She also has studied and written extensively on the crucial role caregivers play in the lives of others provided they have the opportunity. In this sense, LittleApple shifted its niche to return to its true passion of caregiver involvement.
